David Sedaris Spokane reviews
A night out...
Start with the line outside: well controlled, with staff letting you know what was needed in the way of tickets, ID, COVID Vax proof & masks.
Scanning in of tickets: Worked brilliantly
Finding our seats: What a joke!! "I think it's up there, use the escalator" Once "upstairs" there was NO ONE to assist. I vaguely knew were we were to sit, found the box and simply sat down. Lord knows if we were even close.
David Sedaris: My wife loved it, that is what counted. Me?? I was grossly underwhelmed, vaguely humorous followed by minutes of "Oh well"
David Sedaris Wonderful Again; On-Center Hard to Navigate
We loved every minute of David Sedaris's reading; our faces literally ached from laughing. His sharp, brilliant humor, his subjects, his timing, and the unscripted introductions to the pieces were all perfect. We will come see him as many times as you book him!!
Finding the entrance to the venue was tricky. Hadn't realized there were several smaller event spaces within the several blocks of OnCenter buildings. Most of the area was locked and deserted. More signage would have helped; even more helpful would have been to have the name of the particular theatre ON THE TICKETS.
Once we found our way in, the experience was wonderful. It was really nice to see an independent bookstore running the merchandise sales and the space was pleasant and comfortable. There were plenty of employees to help and direct us, and the lighting and sound were excellent.
